Posted on June 16th, 2011 – Comments Off on ‘This Was The SWEETEST Moment in Toronto’I absolutely love the photos you all send Patrick’s way. I LOVE capturing sweet little moments and snapping pics of then when they happen.
If you have pics of some sweet moments from your time in Toronto, please share them with me. I promise to collect them and post them in a feature post when I have collected enough of them.
Some people go on the hunt for beautiful moments, some people can spot those moments, some people are within those moments. If you have a photo of said moment submit them because I would like to create a special post and would like to include YOUR photo as well : D
I’m looking for random pics snapped in the moment at any time, of any subject BUT they have to be here in Toronto.
PLEASE humour me and we will make them even SWEETER to kick off the summer season and put everyone in a GREAT mood!!
all the best to you and yours,
SarahD

This looks awfully familiar…
Posted on June 15th, 2011 – 1 CommentHmm….now where have I seen this bicycle before?
Oh yeah, now I remember: “Spontaneous act of art ordered removed from Dundas Street.” Maybe Mayor Ford isn’t trying to remove street art for the purpose of beautifying the city, perhaps he just wants it for his own living room?
Thanks for Councillor Mark Grimes for snapping that first photo, the Toronto Star for the second one, and to Rob Ford for providing the irony.

CONTEST, CONTEST, CONTEST!!!
Posted on June 11th, 2011 – 5 CommentsA few weeks back Patrick and I went to the grand opening of the latest location of St. Louis on Yonge Street (528 Yonge St.). We both gushed over the food, enough to take some goofy pics of me making a huge mess of myself, as one does when eating BBQ ribs and yummy wings and whatnot, right? Right?
The management came over to investigate the camera flashes and giggling (Patrick’s, I swear! lol). When we confessed the truth about Patrick fave hobby, i.e. TorontoCityLife they were very excited for the free advertising (based on actually enjoyment of gooooood bar food, I swear!). They liked us so much that they offered up a pair of FREE DINNERS at their location!! So, we are sharing our excitement with you, the lovely followers of this site!!
We highly encourage you all to check out the new resto at: 528 Yonge St., Toronto, On. St. Louis Wings. Say ‘hi’ to my pals Stacey + Huda for us!!!
Patrick’s rules:
For you and a friend to scarf down some wicked wings + fries, all you have to do is to post the 3rd comment correctly answering this skill testing question:
Who did TCL proclaim as Toronto’s 2 HOTTEST COUNCILLORS??
*HINT* 1: female, 1: male…..
(comments will open at 5 p.m. EST, June 11, 2011)
see you all later!!!
umm… more allergies? possibly…
Posted on June 10th, 2011 – Comments Off on umm… more allergies? possibly…I have had this one burrito many, many times since i met my BF. It is usually Sooo Gooood and warm and juicy too. ” Yum yumm yummmm…”
You’d think it would always be that way, right?
Alas, it was not.: (
I have this burrito here, the rest of, i.e. MOST of it, because I THINK I AM ALLERGIC TO IT… : ( I don’t know why I am having a reaction to it this one time. Poor Ollie is DYING sink his teeth into it because it smells good and tastes better… I hate having to say NO to him but I must.
To this experience I say BOOO… :(
Just plain ol’ Boooo… :(
Uh oh

MDG’S + if they still matter.
Posted on June 6th, 2011 – Comments Off on MDG’S + if they still matter.Are you familiar with the 8 #Millennium #Development #Goals (#MDG)?? http://bit.ly/ceWCnH
A few years ago I worked on a video for my UofT group (EWB – UofT/ ewb.ca) regarding our government’s commitment to international aid + MDGs. If I can get my hands on that video, I’ll post it because the responses to our questions were so thrilling and yet the reality if that we as a country, province and a city made me sad.
Questions were asked regarding: Do we need to keep promises made from the past? is 0.07% of our GDP too much or impossible to donate to the international money pot? If other smaller countries are able to keep the commitment, why do you think we have not EVER kept ours?
Despite our promise made to the UN back in 1969 we STILL HAVE NOT KEPT OUR WORD, EVER. Now, you can say I am biased but Pearson thought it was worth thinking about and i think we should do the same.
If you’d like to make a difference I suggest you check out this site: www.makepovertyhistory.ca and ewb.ca
TOGETHER we can make change happen, and Toronto being the most populated city in Canada who donate 40+% of the Canada’s GDP, I think we can definitely MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN. Together we can…
The reason for this post is PM Harper keeps making speech after speech about the economy et al. and NOT addressing our commitment to the world as a whole. Be a global citizen and take an interest one way or another.
thanks for reading and please discuss, comment, and surprise me if u like ;)
