‘This Was The SWEETEST Moment in Toronto’
Posted on June 16th, 2011 – Be the first to commentI absolutely love the photos you all send Patrick’s way. I LOVE capturing sweet little moments and snapping pics of then when they happen.
If you have pics of some sweet moments from your time in Toronto, please share them with me. I promise to collect them and post them in a feature post when I have collected enough of them.
Some people go on the hunt for beautiful moments, some people can spot those moments, some people are within those moments. If you have a photo of said moment submit them because I would like to create a special post and would like to include YOUR photo as well : D
I’m looking for random pics snapped in the moment at any time, of any subject BUT they have to be here in Toronto.
PLEASE humour me and we will make them even SWEETER to kick off the summer season and put everyone in a GREAT mood!!
all the best to you and yours,
SarahD

This looks awfully familiar…
Posted on June 15th, 2011 – 1 CommentHmm….now where have I seen this bicycle before?
Oh yeah, now I remember: “Spontaneous act of art ordered removed from Dundas Street.” Maybe Mayor Ford isn’t trying to remove street art for the purpose of beautifying the city, perhaps he just wants it for his own living room?
Thanks for Councillor Mark Grimes for snapping that first photo, the Toronto Star for the second one, and to Rob Ford for providing the irony.

Posted on June 14th, 2011 – 1 CommentThe C.N. Tower’s new $175 EdgeWalk attraction set to open in August. I shat my pants just watching the video.
This weekend, some random things are going to appear in this city…
Posted on June 10th, 2011 – 3 CommentsI love random things and I love taking pictures of random things, things that some people call ‘ART’. Join me here and we can play a game of ‘Where’s Waldo”!

Chris Hume’s Worstest Buildings #1: Vision of a cocky coif
Posted on June 6th, 2011 – Be the first to commentSo for his most-hated pick for his “Toronto’s Worst Buildings” list, the Toronto Star’s Christopher Hume chose the soon-to-be-completed Trump Tower, the be-lidded one’s contribution to our skyline and, apparently, the upcoming record holder for the tallest eyesore, erm, building in Toronto.
According to The Don’s typical hyperbolic pronouncements, the staggeringly priced units (starting at just under $1 mill. and going as high as $20 mill.), are “superior” by virtue of the fixtures (your choice of faucets makes you a better person), and by the sheer height from which you can look / spit down on the common rabble from on high.
Fairweather flâneur, part 1
Posted on June 6th, 2011 – Be the first to commentThere are only so many ways to say “walking around aimlessly on a sunny weekend”…
Seriously…guess.
Posted on June 2nd, 2011 – Be the first to commentI loves me these sugar ships. I know they sneak into my pics a lot but they’re all a little different in their own ways, so as long as I can keep finding new angles, I’m snappin’!
Some park length-wise, basically blocking the slip. But unlike the port-hitched, big-ass, green scoops below, those asshole out-of-city parker ships (am I right?!) use a conveyor to push their raw sugar into the RedPath holding area.
Walked by the other side of that structure once and it’s basically a giant customs warehouse. This here’s international biznatch!
The other thing I whittle my idle hours down with is watching changes in the ship’s pitch. Notice in the pic above how the boat is leaning back in the water (the nose is toward the road). If I was going to pull a sugar heist (a cool Clooney-esque one, of course), I’d be hitting the back of that mutha.
And there’s also something nice about the change in names. Previously berthed ships had all these northern names like “Polaris”, or “Tundra”, or “Frozen Asscheeks”. Now the warm breezes are blowing off the lake over monickers like “Mandarin”. I’m hoping we can avoid “Inferno” this year but Environment Canada, in their usual wishy-washy ways, kinda, sorta, maybe, fifty-fifty, so-so, and otherwise maybe predict that this’ll be a somewhat hot summer. Possibly. Perhaps.
Hotter than last year?! Shit. Well guess where I’m gonna be taking more photos this summer!
No, seriously…guess.
My glass is half slogan
Posted on June 1st, 2011 – Be the first to commentOr maybe, my cup runneth over at the mouth? I had all these things to say about transparency, distortion, optics, and all that kinda stuff, but I think the photo implies much better than I ever could.
